Rev. Doug Conley

Doug has served as the District Superintendent of the Mid-Atlantic District since 2014. He is looking forward to the theme of this year’s conference, THRIVE! Doug is excited to offer some practical skills and tools to help our district churches thrive. Using these tools, pastoral staff and lay leaders together can make a dramatic difference in their churches and their communities.

Rev. Terry Smith

Terry was appointed as vice president for Church Ministries with The Christian and Missionary Alliance and began serving in this role on December 1, 2017.

Terry has served with the C&MA since 1981. He pastored Alliance churches in Florida and in Pennsylvania as well as serving in the role of church-planting director in three districts. He was elected superintendent of the Eastern PA district in August 2014. Terry also served on the C&MA Board of Directors prior to being appointed as vice president for Church Ministries in December 2017.

A graduate of Toccoa Falls College, Terry also holds a master’s degree from Crown College. He is the author of Changing Course: Leading Older Churches in a New Direction.

Terry has been married to Ruth since 1977. They have two married, adult sons, and four grandchildren.

I have a passion for church planting, but also for renewal within existing churches.

Jim Martin

Jim serves as the Vice President of Spiritual Formation at International Justice Mission (IJM). Jim works with IJM's global leaders as they strengthen IJM’s foundation of Christian spiritual formation.  Jim seeks to equip IJM staff worldwide to do the work of justice joyfully and sustainably with ever-deepening dependence on God.

Prior to this position, Jim served as IJM’s Vice President of Church Mobilization, where he led a team working to move churches to a deeper level of understanding of God's passion for justice. Before joining IJM, Jim was a pastor at The River Church in San Jose, CA. Over the years, Jim has spoken at churches, mission events and pastors conferences all over the world.

He received a B.A. in Education from the University of Massachusetts. His book, The Just Church—a practical guide for churches to engage in life-giving justice ministry—was released by Tyndale in 2012. Jim and his wife, Jenna, live in the Washington, DC area with their three children.

THRIVE Kids!

We will be exploring how God makes kids thrive and grow through garden themed games, crafts, STEM, and Bible stories.

Childcare will be provided for kids ages 0-11 during three sessions.

You will be able to add your children when you register.
